About the country
Ecuador lies on the Pacific coast of South America. The name of the country in Spanish means "equator". Ecuador is bordered in the north by Peru and in the south by Colombia.
In the north of Ecuador the climate is equatorial and in the south it´s subequatorial. There are many cacao plantations on the coast and in the selva. Next to them there are banana plantations on the coast and citrus plantations in the center of the country.
Aromatic cocoa beans from Ecuador have a characteristic floral flavor, citrus sour and sweet taste.
