Our fifth chocolate novelty is: white chocolate, black tea “Cha Xiangxin” and lemon.
150 years ago during long trips in carriages along Russian roads people experienced severe motion sickness. To get rid of nausea, travelers asked for something sour or salty. Tea had been already brought to Russia from China, so people were offered tea at roadhouses. Pickles and sauerkraut are mismatching with tea, and a slice of lemon was to everyone’s taste. Consequently a drink named “Russian tea” was invented.
Tea with lemon is so popular because of its taste. Citric acid is perfectly combined with the astringency of tea, and adding sugar makes its taste even better.
